Disorders of chromosome number involve the duplication or lack of whole chromosomes and numerical changes in the genome. Nondisjunction is the abnormality or anomaly in homologous chromosomes or sister chromatids that appeared because of the incorrect separation during meiosis. Nondisjunction can take place during meiosis I or meiosis II.
