How can I check the functionality of stem cells meaning what are the tests I can perform to check whether the stem cells introduced are differentiating in the cells I wanted them to and are they performing the functions of the cells I wanted them to differentiate into? Basically enlist and explain all the assays that I can perform to check the differentiation and functionality of stem cells.

These embryos are donated to research as they will not ever be used to have a baby and are simply thrown away.
