You received a blood sample from a 45 year old male, Levy, who until recently have been healthy. Except for a splenectomy 10 years ago that was a result from a car accident, Levy has had no other hospitalization. He had no history of travel or drug and alcohol abuse. Ten days prior to the current presentation, Levy and his wife attended a Greek festival where they both tried a variety of food. Levy went to see his physician with complaints of malaise, fever, and chills, especially at night. He had weight loss because of loss of appetite.
