During 1985, 200 newly diagnosed cases of diabetes occurred in the Lake Wobegon metro area, which has a population of 10,000 (estimated on January 1, 1985). At the beginning of the year, there were a total of 800 patients with diabetes in the city. During the year, 40 of the original 800 diabetes died as a result of the complications of their disease. Part II 1.The California Occupational Mortality study data set was employed to assess mortality data for the years 1979-1981. A 2% sample of employed persons from the 1980 census of California was used. It contains the occupation of each person who had died.
