1. Although we normally filter 180 liters of fluid per day intothe renal tubules, we only excrete about 1.8 liters of urine perday. What has happened to the other 178 liters of fluid? WHy isthis so important?
2. Im having problems with measuring GFR to determine normalkidney function.
GFR = U x V/P
U is the concetration of inulin in urine (mg/ml)
V is the rate of urine production (ml/min)
p is the concentration of inulinin the blood plasma (mg/ml)
the question says injects the patient with a largepolysaccharide called inulin after 30 minutes the patient produceda 90 ml of urine containing 30 mg of inulin per ml. How do youcalculate GFR
