The equation we use in the lab to calculate dilutions is: C1 x V1 = C2 x V2 Where C is concentration and V is volume. To make a solution with a concentration of C2 and a volume of V2 from a stock with a concentration C1 you just need to put these three numbers into the above equation and solve for V1, the volume of stock you will need to add.
