Please answer the following questions about cellular transport. To best answer the "WHY" part of the first 3 questions, you shouldprobably discuss concentration gradients (with or against?) andenergy sources (are they needed?)

1) Hundreds of people are waiting outside an empty movie theatrewaiting to run in and claim seats to see Puss in Boots. All entranceto the theatre is through a single turnstile, monitored by an usherchecking tickets. When the theatre doors open and people first startmoving into the theatre, which transport process does this mostresemble (simple diffusion, facilitated diffusion, or activetransport) AND WHY?

2) An hour later, the same theatre is completely filled with amovie-goer in every seat plus another 100 people standing in theaisles and crowding the entrance to the theatre. One last person isoutside the turnstile, desperately wanting to get in the theatre.Ifthe usher pushes all the people crowding the door out of the wayand shoves the last person inside the door to the theatre, whattransport process does this most resemble AND WHY?

3) When the movie ends, all the movie-goers pour out of thetheatre through multiple exits into the empty lobby. If they allcruise easily through the multiple, unguarded exits, with no oneblocking their way or monitoring their progress what transportprocess does this most resemble AND WHY?

4) In the scenario from Question 3, if we assume that inside thetheatre is one biological compartment, and the lobby is a secondbiological compartment, and after the movie ends, the movie-goersare free to pass freely between the theatre and the lobby as theywish, how many of the moviegoers would we expect to end up in thelobby, and how many would we expect to stay in the theatre?ANDWHY?
