Your not allowed to give a patient a sugar pill (or any placebo medication) and tell them it"s a real medication unethical. Double blind experiments patients knows they are getting a placebo drug. Placebos can relieve many pains, but not proven if they can deal with serious medical conditions. Nocebo effect is about positive benefits you get from rituals, symbols, etc.
