BUS 212 Chapter Notes - Chapter 11: Mcgraw-Hill Education
As told by Nickels, McHugh and McHugh (2016); recruiting and retaining qualified candidates
has become a bigger importance to companies since qualified applicants have been scarcer.
Getting an applicant that has volunteered in a nonprofit environment will be an adjustment for
him/her but ultimately will pay big dividends for the company. That experience will not need to
be taught from scratch, compared to candidates with no experience. Depending on how strong
the recommendation is from the organization, marketability should attract employers around the
area for initial screening. Just because the resume has what the company looks for, doesn't
necessarily mean they've found a qualified applicant. Doing the actual work that is needed to
complete the job and evaluate performance on whether future investing is progress for the
company, should be management's position when keeping the best employees.
