Stands for intergovernmental panel on climate change. Each working group tackles an aspect of climate science. Ipcc publishes special assessments of the state of knowledge of climate change. The elements of the report are: main report, technical summary -> most important points of the main report in technical language, summary for policymakers -> examined line by line by representatives from each country. Stands for coupled model intercomparison project 5. Set of climate change experiments undertaken by every modeling venter to prepare for the 2013 ipcc. 5 refers to the fact that 2013-1014 ipcc report is the 5th one. Four radiative forcing scenarios were imposed on the gcms. Names (rcp 2. 6, rcp8. 5) correspond to the approximate radiative forcing in 2100, relative to the pre-industrial period. Carbon emissions required to produce the radiative forcing of each scenario. On the right side is the geographical distribution of the warming that occurs by the end of the 21st century under rcp 8. 5.
