Arthropoda - insects, crustaceans, chelicerates, and myriapods. Mollusca - snails, clams, octopuses, and squid. Annelida - segmented worms e. g. earthworms, polychaete worms, leeches. Live virtually every aquatic and terrestrial habitat in the world and can be detritivores, herbivores, or carnivores. Protostomes, especially shellfish are a major direct source of food for humans.
