Life expectancy- the average predicted length of time from birth to death. Normal aging- certain biological aging processes that seem time related rather than being a function of disease, injury or stress. Pathological aging- a decrease in functioning caused by disease, illness, injury and other factors. Physical disabilities that limit mobility are increasing among middle aged americans. Physical activity- a key to successful aging. Nutrition and obesity- most common nutritional disorder in older persons is obesity. Causing risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, arthritis and other sickness. Using brain as you age- by reading, playing games, solving crossword puzzles, and doing crafts and pottery or quilting greatly decreases the risk of memory loss.
