Ego psych- behavior reflects compromises in conflict between mental processes, more. Archetypes- the images/ideas/categories and universal emotional symbols. Shadow- reps the repressed unconscious drives and desires of the personal; unconscious. Persona- our public self, the front a person puts in front of other people. The mask that makes the person and others believe that he/she is an individual. Anima- only men are supposed to have this; an internal feminine image; based on real life experiences with women and determines a man"s relationship with women. Animus- a woman has this; her internalized personification of all masculinity. Argues that freud"s pov focused on men more than women. She argued that culture plays a role in dev of diff standards for men and women. She says that women were jealous of men"s power in society. Womb envy- men are unconsciously jealous of women bc men cannot create life like women do and so they must make up for that.
