He was able to enact the civil rights bill of 1964 which gave equal rights to everyone. It strengthened the combating of discrimination in hiring or promotions, empowered the government to file school desegregation suits and strengthened voting rights. African americans were allowed to vote: created an anti-poverty program, set out for urban renewal projects for housing for low income families.
