EDT 190 Chapter Notes - Chapter 10: Instructional Design
Document Summary
Sometimes changes in the education system are additive and only a few practices are adopted. Others do nothing other than relabel what teachers already do, to fit in with new frameworks. Supporting successful transformation over time demands that leaders attend to four key areas: The purpose or vision that we are striving to make a reality. The tools and practices that will help us achieve that vision. Facilitation of the ongoing learning required to achieve the vision and implement the tools to their best effect. The growth we are seeing in teachers and students that will help us recognize our progress and identify our collective steps. Enables colleagues to meet in small groups over time to observe, inquire and reflect on teaching practices as they play out in real time in the classroom. Host teachers open their classrooms to colleagues to observe and document their inner practices of instructional design and pedagogical decision making.
