Document Summary

Sometimes it"s a good solution in a society where there is a large sex imbalance and there is a shortage of women. Starts with retirement --> diminished income --> declining health --> restricted activities: the above leads to network attrition. In post-industrial societies, children are economic liabilities: child birth/care costs money, children are required to be in school until 16 in most states, to get a decent job, you need a college education. While growing up, kids provide very little economic benefit. Same number of people in each group: countries that are undergoing development are having rising fertility rates and dropping morality rates, expansive pyramids, narrow at the top, wide at the bottom, migration -- effects a countries population. Internal migration: people moving place to place within a country, **possible final question: "what"s one direction we"ve never seen a migration in population growth?" Fewer people means less ability to protect yourself against a foreign enemies.
