Brief periods of sleep lasting for a matter of seconds: sleep deprivation. Trembling hands, inattention, staring of into space, droopy eyelids, general discomfort, depression and/or irritability: what processes/mechanisms play a role in sleep, bodily rhythms. Occurs over a period of time greater than 24 hours. Occurs more than once in a 24 hour cycle. Most are confined to either day or night.
