Many ideas and concepts for new products are proposed, but very few every make it further than this. The feasibility of a concept is based on the design engineer"s knowledge, often it is necessary to augment this knowledge with the development of simple models and visual aids to help explain and analyze the concept. Some concepts are too advanced and modern technology cannot fulfill the needed requirements. In order for a certain technology to be used in a product, it must be fully developed and ready. Something to keep in mind at this point in development is product safely. This implies concern for injury to humans and for damage to the device itself, other equipment, or the environment. This helps prevent death, cost, pollution, and many hazards to modern society.
