Contrast: if two items are not exactly the same, make them different, for contrast to be effective, it must be strong, purpose is to organize and add visual interest. The big picture: message, audience, medium, aesthetically pleasing, legal and ethical issues. In communication it"s more important what words look like than what they say. Font: a complete set of characters compromising one specific size, style and weight of typeface.
