An introduction to the human body: anatomy- structure, dissection- carefully cutting apart of a body, physiology- function. Look at picture of: inspection-looking or examine, palpation- touching, auscultation- listening, percussion. Anatomical position- any structure will be presented in one of these positions: anterior view, posterior view. Head to the toe is superior to inferior. Proximal distal is used to describe attachment sites if your going from brachial to antecubital. Ipsilateral is on the same side of midline. Planes and sections: sagittal- plane that will make a vertical line into right and left unequal, parasagittal- unequal non midline, midsagittal- directly down the middle, median, transverse- horizontal. Transporter- is going to selectively help move a substance through a membrane, Membrane permeability- how easy is it to get through the membrane. Lipid bilayer- 2 molecules stacked on top of each other permeable to oxygen and carbon dioxide, water, and steroids. Interstitial fluid- fluid in between the cell, (intercellular fluid)
