ENGL 2025 Chapter : Heart Of Darkness
Document Summary
We live in the flicker may it last as long as the old earth keeps rolling! This quote particularly caught my eye while reading heart of darkness. It made me think about how much we strive to be remembered for as long as we exist on earth, only to just become another part of history. The impression i got from this man, while reading through this section was that the fame is short lived and much overrated. I enjoyed this quote because it made me think that no matter how much all of us want to be recognized for our achievements, it will soon subside as time goes on. Something bigger and better will take its place. By the tone of the excerpt, it sounds like he will be left there to rot into the ground like the captain who was stabbed. This gives insight to the mindset of the white man in this time period.
