Political culture: moral values, beliefs, & myths people live by and are willing to die for. Political socialization: process by which members of a community are taught the basic values of their society and are thus prepared for the duties of citizenship. Gender gap: differences in voting between men/women in the us; most obvious in political issues/elections that raise the issue of the appropriateness of gov. force. Civic education: process of inculcating in potential citizens the fundamental values and beliefs of the established order. Liberal education: education often associated with private colleges in the us; stresses the development of critical thinking skills through study of history, literature, etc. Peer group: group of people similar in age and characteristics (college students)
