Module 47 - social-cognitive theories and the self. Social - cognitive perspective: the interaction of our traits with our situations. Social - learn behaviour through conditioning, imitation, observing. Behaviour + internal personal factors + environmental influences. To describe the interacting influences of behaviour, thoughts, and environment, he used the term reciprocal determinism. Ww2 spies, teachers, managers, police officers, etc. Past behaviour patterns in similar situations predict future behaviour!! The best way to predict a person"s future behaviour is by analyzing their past behaviour in similar situations. If there is insufficient information on the individual"s past performance in these situations, simulate a similar situation and evaluate their performance.
