Social-cognitive perspective: views behaviour as in uenced by their interaction bw people"s traits (including their thinking) and their social context: emphasis on individuals and their situations. Believes that learn through social interactions conditioning or by observing and imitating others. Doesn"t focus on how the enviro controls us (behaviourism) but how we interact w/ the enviro. Reciprocal in uence: the interacting in uences of behaviour, internal cognition and environment: can see this interaction in habits people develop in relationships. Ex romena"s history of romantic relationships (past behaviour) in uences her attitudes toward relationships in general (internal factor), which changes how she responds to ryan (enviro factor) Three speci c ways in which individuals and enviro interact: different people choose different. We choose enviro (i. e. our friends, school, music, tv shows) and it shapes us: our personalities shape how we interpret and react to events.
