Chapter 6- learning (notes) (november 3 and 5) Learning- any relatively durable change in behaviour or knowledge that is due to experience. Superstitions are often a result of obtaining a rewards after engaging in behaviours, even if behaviour and reward are not linked. Phobias- irrational fears of specific objects/ situations; are often result of classical conditioning. Agoraphobia- an intense fear of being in public places where it may be difficult to escape from or in which might be difficult to obtain help. No exclusively a human process; prevalent in animals. Principles that explain learned responses in animals explain much of human learning.
