Assessment in clinical psychology clinical assessment is the evaluation of an individuals or familys strengths and weaknesses and prescription of the problem, ongoing problem. Varities of interviewers interviewers differ in purpose, ie intake-admission interview, diagonistic interview. The case-history interview personal and social history is taken, facts, dates events noted provide a broad background, educational, social, medical other people who know the client can be sources of informational as well. The mental status examination interview conducted to assess the precence of cognitive, emotional or behavioural problems, but are unreliable and highly unstructured. The crisis interview volunteer keeps the notion that they understand, calm and confident nature. Dsm-v, structured diagnostic interviews, standard set of questions and follow-up probes in a specific sequence, all subjects asked the same questions, ie two clinicians who interview the same patient will come to the same conclusion.
