Started in 1960 by a group of local united churches to give church children and youth somewhere to gather and meet. From 1960 - 1973, it was a summer camp. Each week was a different church with a different camp director who ran their own program. In 1973, it became a year-round facility. There is now a set summer staff who works 7-8 weeks in the summer. A year-round facility that also is a summer camp. Summer camp is the mission & reason for being. The mission is funded through retreats and rentals for other groups. Many improvements - been around for 60 years. One of canada"s largest united church summer camps. A new barn and buildings were built - bathrooms, showers, etc. Want campers to feel like it is their home. Want their campers to feel like they are family. You are more connected to people long term if you feel at home. Teach all who wish to learn.
