Most people distinguish men and women based on biological sex. Your sex depends on whether you were born with distinct male or female genitalia and the genetic program that release either male or female hormones to stimulate development of your reproductive system. Gender: comprises feelings, attitudes and behaviours associated with being male or female. Gender identity: identification with or sense of belonging to a particular sex- biologically, psychologically and socially. Gender role: behave according to widely shared expectations about how males or females are supposed to act. Transgender: when an individual"s gender identity does not exactly match with the sex assigned to them at birth. Transsexual: individuals that identity as the opposite sex assigned to them at birth, causing them to change their appearance or resort to a sex-change operation. No one to one relationship exists between sex and gender. Sexuality: refers to activities that are intended to lead to erotic arousal and produce genital response .
