Document Summary

Gender and culture is an artifact of our time. Humans have underdeveloped instincts we aren"t hardwired, we don"t have instincts that tell us what to do at all times, but we have culture to make up for this lack. Humans require symbolic systems to compensate for lack of instincts, we generally have reflexes. Most of our behaviour we have to use culture to guide us culture replaces instincts. Culture: the sum of socially transmitted ideas, practices, and material objects that people create. Culture gives us guidelines for how to think and ac. A society exists when people interact and share culture, generally in a geographically delimited area. Not every human being are born as male or female. Intersexed: a person with biological characteristics of both males and females, often consisting of some combination of male and female genitalia. Transgender: a person whose gender identity does not match their birth sex.
