Class switching: mantle zone - naive b cells are pushed to edge. 7. 2 fine-tuning of b cells in the germinal centre. Germline gene rearrangement - increases diversity of bcr & tcrs. Somatic hypermutation in dark zone: purposely high rate of mutation when b cells proliferate, in heavy and light chain genes. Changes antigen binding site ~ variable eons of heavy and light chain genes.
