Document Summary

Hostile aggression behavior motivated by feelings of anger and hostility and whose primary aim is to harm another, either physically or psychologically. Instrumental aggression refers to behavior that is intended to harm another in the service of motives other than pure hostility. People harm others, for example, to gain status, to attract attention, to acquire wealth, and to advance political and ideological causes. Situations give rise to or release people"s aggressive tendencies!!! Indeed, anger literally raises the temperature of the body because of accelerated heart rate and increased distribution of blood to certain areas, such as the hands. People are also more violent in the u. s. during hot months, such as july and. August, than during cooler months, such as january and february. The one exception is december, when violent crime rates also rise so much for holiday good cheer. One explanation assigns a prominent role to attributional processes.
