Numeral values with associated measurement units to provide meaning. Relative frequency of each category is represented by the area of the pie segment. Represents the count/percentage of each category in a categorical variable as a bar. Bar graph in which frequencies are sorted from largest to smallest. Quantitative variables can be summarized: numerically, graphically. Example 1: the cornell lab of ornithology holds an annual christmas bird count, in which bird watchers at various locations around the country see how many different species of birds they can spot.
