Measured variation = true variation + variation from error. Intra-interview variability - interview is not consistent (asking questions or in recording answers) Inter-interview variability - error from having more than on interviewer (inconsistency) Closed choice - limited answers to chose from. Open ended questions - can write down what they say. Open ended = analyze answers and group them into categories. Interviewers - trained to be professional and accepting. Test the interviewers rst in a trial round. Focus groups - multiple interviewers and interviewees. Uncommon to have more than one interviewer to interviewee present. Limits sample size to people with phones. Not as good at acquiring data on sensitive issues. Face to face interviews are better than phone interviews.
