Dimensions: firm asset, has different forms, has a location, is situational. Knowledge management- set of business processes developed in an organization to create, store, transfer, and apply knowledge. Increases ability to lean from environment and use that knowledge. Each stage adds value to raw data and information as they are transformed into usable knowledge. Collected in different ways depending on knowledge needed: build a repository of documents, reports, presentations, and best practices, discovering patterns in data or use knowledge workstations to discover new knowledge.
