Personality: consistent way of behaving as a result of the interaction between our temperament and social experience. Hereditary and biological factors play a stronger role in determining temperament. Temperament is manifested early in childhood and can refer to behavior differences. Personality traits as categories or causes of behavior. Refer to the consistency in a specific set of behavior across time and across relevant situations. Traits: also defined by the relationship among different behavioral habits. Five factor model: openness to experience, continuousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism = ocean. Extraversion and neuroticism are the two that are the most studied. Seeking of varied, novel, complex and intense sensations and experiences and the willingness to take physical, social, legal and financial risks. Risk taking is a part of this as well; take risks due to the reward it gives. Thrill and adventure seeking: risky activities such as sky diving. Experience seeking: mental and sensory stimulation from art, travel etc.
