Measures of general cognitive ability several group tests designed to measure general cognitive ability also provide information on other specific aptitudes, in much the same way as the weschler. Adult intelligence scale (wais-iii) provides verbal, performance, and full-scale. Iqs some of these tests are designed for rough categorization, while others give highly accurate measures with minimal effort on the part of the examiner. Jackson (1984) noted that the wais and its successors are very useful and well developed tests, however, several factors restrict their more widespread use: they must be administered on an individual basis by a highly trained examiner. 2. there is some subjectivity in the scoring of the test the tests do not have a sufficient floor or ceiling ; that is, they do not. While the mab has the practical advantages of group administered tests, the transition from individual to group testing could entail some loss of valuable observational data.
