Leaders tend to have higher intelligence: strong verbal ability, perceptual ability, and reasoning. Intelligence gap between leader and non-leader must be small for effective communication. Intelligence has a positive impact on an individual"s capacity for effective leadership. Ability to be certain about one"s competencies and skills. Desire to get the job done: includes initiative, persistence, dominance, and drive. Quality of honesty and trustworthiness: loyal, dependable, and not deceptive. Those who show integrity can be trusted inspiring confidence in others. Inclination to seek out pleasant social relationships: friendly, outgoing, courteous, tactful, and diplomatic. Sensitive to others" needs and show concern for their well-being. Extraversion is the trait most strongly associated with leadership. Has to do with emotions (affective domain), and thinking (cognitive domain), and the interplay between the two.
