Attraction-similarity hypothesis the concept that people tend to develop romantic relationships with those whose levels of attractiveness are similar to their own. Storge loving attachment and nonsexual affection, type of love that binds parents to children. Agape selfless love, kind of love similar to generosity and charity. Philia love between friends, kind of love based on liking and respect, rather than sexual desire. Eros kind of love that"s closest to our modern-day concept of passion. Liking (intimacy) basis of friendship, feelings of closeness and emotional warmth, but without passion or commitment, may develop to passionate love or companionate love. Empty love (commitment) contains neither warm, emotional embrace of intimacy nor the flame of passion, partner is someone you tolerate and remain with because of sense of duty, due to personal or social prescription. Infatuation (passion) typified by strong sexual desire, but not by intimacy and commitment, partners may feel passionate for each other, or such feelings may go unrequited.
