Leadership = reciprocal rtshp bw leader and follower. Formal leadership - person in position of authority or assigned role within org that connotes influence like clinical nurse specialist. Informal leadership - individual who demonstrates leadership outside scope of formal leadership role or as a member of a group, rather than as head. Managers are people who do things right and leaders are people who do the right thing (bennis) Leadership is about creating change, management is about controlling complexity in an effort to bring order and consistency (kotter) Management- planning and budgeting, organizing and staffing. Guiding vision- what org wants to be and focus on tmr (vision statement) Passion- ability to inspire toward promises of life.
