Legal drugs may in some ways be more dangerous than illegal. Use of legal drugs causes more death, sickness, violent crime, other social problems than use of illegal drugs. Legal prohibition of drug does not necessarily indicate how dangerous drug really is. In assuming illegal drugs more dangerous than legal, general public believes people using illegal drugs typically become addicted, compulsive, heavy users. Empirical evidence suggests people who use illicit drugs do so. Majority of drug users have ability to draw line on what they do. Most drugs can be differentiated into 3 categories according to effects on cns. Can affect user in same way as each of 3 types of drugs. Most widely used illegal drug in us. Many researchers found that marijuana tends to inhibit aggressive behaviour. Careful checking of findings has largely found no damage from marijuana use. If smoked in large doses for extended period, marijuana can be physically addictive.
