Complex relationship between substance abuse and crime. Young adults ages 18 to 25 have the highest rate of drug use and teenagers ages 12 to 17 the second. Us has the highest rate of drug use. Most drug problems are conined to the lower classes. Less common of drug use and overdose in middle class. Rate for teenagers have been rising usually due to pot. African american students are less likely than white peers to use drugs. Sharpest increase in drug use occurred in teens around 13.
