Task interdependence (greater interdependence, greater likelihood for conflict) Pooled = lowest level of interdependence, least amount of conflict. Sequential = output of 1 unit becomes input for another. Reciprocal = activities flow both ways b/t units: task conflict = regarding goals & content of work, process conflict = disagree on how to achieve goals, relationship conflict = interpersonal issues. 3 basic forms of conflict that exist in orgs. Reactions to conflict differentiated along 2 dimensions. Compromise: how important each party"s goals are to that party, how compatible the goals are.
