Characteristics of self-concept: complexity: the amount of roles on identifies with. For example you might be a mom, daughter and wife: consistency: the personality traits that correspond with the identity roles, clarity: when a person can identify who o they are and where they stand. The process of self: self-enhancement: the motivations have a positives self-concept. For example: being attractive or successful: self-verification: stabilize view of person"s self-enhancement. For example: some confirms that you are indeed attractive. We seek out feedback that supports out self-view: self-evaluation, self-esteem- the overall like and satisfaction view of one"s self. The higher your self-esteem is the less likely you are to be influenced by others: self-efficacy- belief in one"s ability on a task. Whether or not you can complete a task: locus of control: the amount of control on believes they have over their life. Internal locus of control: they believe have the ability to change their life, for it to be better.
