Communication process by which information is transmitted and understood between people: transmitting intended meaning (not just symbols, importance of communication. The means through which knowledge enters the organization and is distributed to employees. Conveys knowledge that helps employees better manage they work environment. Improving communication coding/decoding: sender / receiver has similar codebooks. Codebooks - dictionaries of symbols, language, gestures, idioms etc: message encoding pro ciency. Ef ciency improved with experience: communication channel motivation and ability.
