The database collects data from many different divisions and departments in a firm and from a large number of business processes. Information collected from one process can be accessed and used by other processes in the firm. Built around thousands of predefined business processes that reflect best practices (shown in table 9-1) To make a decision, firms must: select functions of system they wish to use, map business processes to software processes. Table 9-1 describes some off the major business processes supported by enterprise software. Enterprise systems provide value both by increasing operational efficiency and by providing fire-wide information to help managers make better decisions. Large companies with many operating units in different locations have used enterprise systems to enforce standard practices and data so that everyone does business the same way worldwide.
