Emergent practice planning, chapter 2: setting the stage. Language is sometimes dependent on context, could change the meaning of a word entirely. Don"t get too overwhelmed by the language but reflect on it, words are the most powerful tools however sometimes they are difficult to form. Frameworks are representations of the essential parts of something; a model is more complex, a description of the parts of a whole; both guide thinking and practice, provide an overview, provide categories to organize information, establish shared understandings. Frameworks and models capture the essence of, but never the whole of, something; the interpretation and application of them is in the hands of the practitioner, who can use flexibility and creativity. The epp framework urges practitioners to create models that work for them. Emergent-self as practitioner: the self and the practitioner are one in the same, without the self, there is no practitioner and no other, beliefs and values change your practice.
