Managers need a high level of social capital. Competency = human capital, developed by formal education, prior work history, technical and task related knowledge, skills, and abilities are examples of human capital. Social capital= the match to make you a great problem solved (soft skills). Social capital includes resources available to an individual as a consequence of his or her personal relationships. It is essential the effectiveness and success of a manager. Networking is the primary skill used to increase and individual"s social capital. Networking: proactive attempts by individuals to develop and maintain personal and professional relationships with others fro the purpose of mutual benefits in their work or career. Benefits of a network for you are that these contacts can provide you with information, access to diverse skill sets, and expanded influence.
