Odysseus had sent him: eurycleia proceeds to tell penelope that she found odysseus standing over the suitor"s bodies, which is when he sent eurycleia to go get penelope. After hearing this, penelope once again is in doubt that it was truly odysseus, she claims that she thinks it must have been an immortal god who killed the suitors she says that. Odysseus is dead and he will never come home. Eurycleia is shocked by penelope"s doubt, she tells penelop to follow her downstairs to go see odysseus for herself.
