Ten years after fall of troy (iliad) He on island ogygia slaved by calypso who loves him. Meanwhile, his home in ithaca is run over with suitors wanting to take his wife penelope. Penelope still faithful, but she and telemachus thinks he"s dead now. Athena disguises as mentes (odysseus" friend) and talks to telemachus, who shows xenia (passes a test) She advises telemachus to try to banish suitors, and go to pylos and sparta for news of father. At pylos, telemachus talks to nestor about odysseus; nestor compares his situation to. Nestor sends his own kid to help telemachus, pisistratus to sparta. Hermes is sent to calypso, tells her to let odysseus leave. Odysseus finds an island of the phaeacians, but poseidon is like nope and makes a hell of a storm. Goddess ino saves him, he makes his way up a river and takes cover in forest.
