Liberalism (locke, kant, adam smith): accept different types of actors. Accepts different interests without giving any one too much weight. See areas in which actors have common interests. Constructivism (wendt): roots in critical theory and sociology. Assume social actors pursue their vision of what is right given their conception of their identity and image.
